Ground and Flight Training Schedule

Flight Training Lessons

A 4-4.5 hour period with the instructor is normally scheduled for a local flight lesson – including briefings before and after the flight. The actual flight portion usually lasts 1 ½ to 2 ½ hours. The student may select which days to train (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday are available) and from the following periods for each day (2 lessons per week minimum recommended):

  • 11:00am – 3:30pm
  • 5:30pm – 10:00pm

You make keep the same flight lesson times each week or vary your schedule from week to week for your convenience.

One – on – one classroom ground school

This is the usual method of ground school at American Air. This ground school is scheduled at the student’s convenience in the time periods listed above for flight lessons in 4 hour sessions. The Private Pilot and Instrument Pilot ground schools include 100-120 hours of instruction and testing. Actual total hours vary with each student.

Online personal, one-on-one ground school

Some of the ground sessions can be conducted online using Skype. This is an added convenience for students who travel or need to stay at the office. This is scheduled at convenient times for the student.
